The hotel Villa Beccaris is a XVIIIth century Villa where, for a time period, lived the General Fiorenzo Bava Beccaris from whom it inherited its name.
The general was born in Fossano on 17th March 1831 from a notable Piedmont noble family. He studied at the Military Academy in Turin and he became military officer in the Savoia army. He took part to the Crimean war and to the second and third independency wars. The episode which gave him relevance, was the siege on Milan and province in 1898 when he suppressed the insurrection against the taxes, bread and flour prices increase imposed by the Savoia reign.
His villa in Monforte had been abandoned for a long time, when in 1996 a group of friends, art lovers and owners of different local businesses, decided to restore it and in September 1997 relaunch it as a charming hotel.
Since then, the main aim in Villa Beccaris has been to delight guests in “a home away from home” where to feel pampered and relaxed.
